Art Deco era French gilt bronze wax seal in the form of a dog's head by the sculptor Alexandre Auguste Caron (1857-1932). Appears to be a breed to hunting hound, a basset hound or perhaps a blood hound. Signed A. Caron. The matrix below bears a monogram of interlaced initials MB or BM. Stands 2 1/4 tall x 1 3/4" wide x 1 5/8" deep, the base is 7/8” diameter. In overall good antique condition.. There is a slight indentation on the base edge, visible on the matrix.
