Antique George III sterling silver vinaigrette. Rectangular form hinged box decorated in machine turned basket weave or lattice motif, centered by a blank oval cartouche. The back with an engraved floral emblem. Opens to reveal a silver gilt interior with a finely pierced mock filigree grill. Bearing hallmarks for Birmingham, date letter appears be letter Q for 1788, maker's mark for Matthew Linwood. In good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, some scratches/minor indentions to the sides and base. Measures 1 5/8" x 1 1/4" x 3/8". Weighs 27.4g
