Delightful antique to vintage French .800 (nearly sterling) silver cup or tumbler. Beautifully decorated with Elegant styling enhanced with exquisite guilloche engraving patterned with flowers and floral wreaths. Monogrammed with interlaced initials BC. Gorgeous gilt vermeil to the interior. In good condition. Measures 2 3/4" height with an opening measuring 2 1/4" diameter. Weighs 82 grams. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 2nd standard hallmark, depicting the profile of the goddess Minerva with a number 2 beside her designating a silver content of .800/1000 (at least 80% pure silver and just under the .925 standard for sterling silver). Maker's mark is slightly rubbed, but appears to be that of silversmiths Chéramy et Salomon, active circa 1900s to 1920 at 19 boulevard Malesherbes, Paris.
