Stunning antique French sterling silver and cut glass traveling `spirits' liquor flask by Daum Nancy cristalleries founded in Lorraine. Quite stunning. Featuring a delicate blown glass tapered body. The interior with fluted paneling, the exterior with finely engraved flowers accented in gold gilding. Retains a glass stopper. Signed to the base with a gilt signature: Daum Nancy with the cross of Lorraine (Croix de Loraine). Mounted with exquisite sterling silver fittings, comprising of a lid, collar, rim and detachable tumbler/drinking cup at the base. The lid and tumbler are ornately decorated with an Art Nouveau floral motif. The lid with a charming repousse of roses, the tumbler with engine turned engraving of morning glories and curling vines. Enhanced in gold vermeil finish. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which depicts the head of the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of .950/1000 (95% pure silver and a higher grade of silver than .925 sterling.) In overall good condition with general wear. Measures 6" in length.
