An antique 19th century sterling silver mounted cut glass liquor / whisky hip flask by Gorham. Topped by a hinged lid with twist and lock closure and cork lined interior. Having a detachable drinking cup at the base. The glass body of the flask decorated with an all over diamond pattern. In overall good condition for age and type with general wear/scratches from use and handling. The sterling mounts are in good condition, a dimple or two on the drinking cup. The cut glass body having some nicks and small chips to the diamond pattern, fogginess to the lower portion of the flask (we have not attempted to clean the interior of this flask). Bearing the Gorham hallmarks of a lion, anchor and letter G, this particular mark was used at the turn of the 19th century. Marked STERLING, number S545 and bearing a year mark for 1888. Measures 5 1/2" length x 2 7/8" width.
