Antique French sterling silver and glass liquor flask or perfume bottle. Featuring a clear glass tapered body decorated with engraved intaglios of cattails and scrolls. Mounted with sterling silver fittings enhanced in gilt vermeil finish. Comprising a knob shaped lid, threaded collar and detachable tumbler cup sheathing the base. The lid and tumbler with repoussee and chasing with a similar motif as the bottle of cattails and scrolling. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which depicts the head of the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of .950/1000 (95% silver and a higher grade of finesse than .925 sterling.) Bearing maker's marks for silversmith Ziegler, Emile Ziegler, active 1898 to 1905. In overall good condition with general wear. Measures 5 7/8" in length.
