A stunning pair of antique mid to late 19th century Black Forest oak hand carved wood "Fruits of the Hunt" trophy themed panels. Expertly carved with leaves, berries and acorns together with hunting accoutrements surrounding the anatomical figures of wild game. One panel depicts a pair of game birds, the other with a stag and bird, hung as trophies. All carved in raised relief. These old panels are perfect to frame and display, integrate into cabinet doors or for architectural salvage pieces. The panels measure 20 1/2" x 18 9/16". Condition: General wear commensurate with age and use. There are splits in the wood, visible in the photos. I do see one chip to a vine and to the tip of the beak of the larger bird (woodcock?) Some edge nicks to the perimeter and warping to the panels.
