Antique Napoleon III era French Sevres style porcelain and gilt bronze jewelry casket. The box features five porcelain plaques, each beautifully hand painted with pastoral scenes. Decorating the lid is a portrait of a courting couple in a garden setting, the gentlemen offering pink flowers while the lady reads a letter in her hands. Signed at the lower right, appears to be Lefrare. The surrounding panels depict serene views of lakes and chateaus and country homes in the distance. Encased in gilt bronze mounts and resting on four ornate feet. The hinged lid opens to reveal a velvet lined interior. In overall very good condition with general wear to the bronze mounts commensurate with age and use. No chips, cracks or damage to the gorgeous porcelain panels.
