Antique French Old Paris Porcelain Plates, Set of 6 Dessert or Luncheon, Gold & Blue Trim, Monogram

 

Set of 6 gorgeous antique mid to late 19th century French Old Paris porcelain 8 1/4" dessert or luncheon plates by Jules Gauvain. Featuring an elegant serpentine edge decorated with a charming blue border, trimmed in gold tracery around a white center well. Monogrammed with opposing initials GG in elegant gold script centered by a bold letter H in blue. In good antique condition with just the subtlest signs of use throughout the years in the form of some light gold wear. One plate having a chip in the blue border that was reglued. Marked in the back Manufacture de Porcelaine, J. Gauvain, 59 rue d'Hauteville, Paris. Jules Gauvain (b. 1824, d. 1888) was a porcelain merchant in 1850 and porcelain manufacturer from 1875.
