Large French Sevres ceramic baluster vase by Paul Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. Featuring beautiful cobalt, turquoise and yellow mottled flambe glaze. Mount with bronze foot and rim. Marked for Paul Millet and Sevres within a dotted circle, this mark was in use circa 1911. In good condition with general wear to the metal mounts commensurate with age. Stands 12 1/8" height x 4 1/8" width. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862, and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931.
