Antique Continental porcelain bowl with French sterling silver mount. Beautifully hand painted with exquisite floral bouquets with molded gilt detail and scalloped rim. Resting on an opulent sterling silver footed base. Marked to the bottom with a crown and crossed swords. The silver base is hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark indicating a silver content of .950/1000 silver. Bearing a maker's mark for silversmith Armand Gross, a prestigious silversmith active in Paris in the late 19th and early 20th century. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with use and age, some wear to the gilding on the high points, there are two firing flaws to the scalloped rim as shown. Measures 9" square x 3" height.
