Gorgeous pair of antique French Sevres red ox blood / sang de boeuf flambe glazed ceramic cabinet vases by Paul Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. Decorated with finely casted gilt bronze or brass metal mounts, including a reticulated mount of ornate Rococo style floral garland swags suspended from ribbon bows. Marked for Paul Milet and Sevres, within a dotted circle, this mark was in use circa 1911. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862, and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931. The vases are in good condition with general wear/discoloration to the metal mounts commensurate with age. Stands 6 5/8" height x 2 5/8" width
