Rare antique French Sevres ceramic cabinet vase by Paul Jean Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862, and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931. This vase features a rare malachite green colored ground. Decorated in Empire style gilt bronze ormolu mounts festooned with garland swags, ribbon and laurel motif. Marked MP for Paul Millet and Sevres, within a dotted circle, this mark was in use circa 1911. Vase is in very good condition and stands 3 1/8" height.
