Pair of antique French Sevres ceramic cabinet vases by Paul Jean Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862, and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931. The vases feature a lovely speckled flambe glazed ground, in a sage green / celadon color. Decorated in Empire style gilt bronze ormolu mounts festooned with garland swags, ribbon and laurel motif. Marked MP for Paul Millet and Sevres, within a dotted circle, this mark was in use circa 1911. Both vases are in overall good antique condition with no chips or cracks. Vases stand 3 1/8" height x 2 1/8" wide x 1 1/8" diameter opening.
