Pair of 18th century Chinese Imari porcelain plates from the Kangxi period (1661–1722) of the Qing Dynasty.
The wide rim is divided by four geometric cartouches containing lattice patterns, alternating with floral sprays, painted in tones of underglaze cobalt blue enlivened with overglaze iron red with gilt painted accents. The backs with Kangxi double rings and auspicious symbol. Resting on opulent French gilt bronze pedestal bases. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. One plate has two chips to the bottom foot rim. Warm patina to the gilt bronze mounts and bases. The plates measure 9 1/4" diameter with the bronze rim. Displayed on the bronze supports, they stand 6 1/8" height.
