Pair of Volkstedt Germany Porcelain Malabar Musicians Figurines. The set features a male and female figure, typically modeled after 18th-century designs by Friedrich Meyer. Both figures are depicted in the chinoiserie style, wearing straw hats, yellow robes with fur lining over purple and floral patterned garments. The lady plays the hurdy-gurdy and the man plays a guitar. Standing on raised on rocaille bases with applies flowers. Bearing Volkstedt porcelain mark under glaze in use from 1945. In overall good vintage condition, there is a repair of the lady's pink finger and a flake chip to the edge of her straw hat. The man stands 7 1/2" tall and the lady stands 7 5/8" tall.
