
Antique Belle Époque era French .800 silver parasol hand, or dress cane handle. Richly decorated with fluting and stylized acanthus leaves. The hinged top opens to reveal a hidden compartment embellished in stunning gold vermeil finish. Inside is a compact mirror and swans down powder puff. Finely housed in the original presentation box. Together with 8 umbrella or parasol spoke tips. The handle is hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000. Maker's marks for Aksel Dahl, active circa 1913 at 3 rue de la Perle, Paris. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. The handle measures 3 3/8" height x 1 3/4" wide. The box measures 5 3/4" x 4 1/8" x 2 1/8" height
