Antique equestrian horse painting, oil on canvas, from the late 19th century. Perhaps Dutch or German school. Beautifully rendered with exquisite detail, depicting a portrait study of two thoroughbred horses, one white and the other chestnut. Exquisite composition with successful anatomical study of both horses. Signed to the lower left. Monogram appears to be initials CW or GW, and dated 1884. In overall good antique condition. Unframed. General wear around the periphery, hidden once framed. There is a small spot of paint loss to the background on the upper right. Measures 13 1/2" x 10".
