Charming antique 19th century European painting of a hunting hound. Depicting a dog in a striking pose next to a cluster of thistle flowers. With a country landscape and blue sky in the background, a Dutch windmill in the far distance. Signed by the artist F. Enland or Enlanr and dated for 1876. Very nicely done by a talented hand. Oil on canvas. Measures 9 5/8" x 7 3/8". Unframed. In overall good antique condition with wear along the edges, a couple of spots of flaking. To the upper right is a small hold, though would likely go unnoticed if framed.
