Vintage oil painting depicting an English hunting party beautifully executed by German artist Wihelm Peter Ahrweiler (1905-1987). Showcasing riders in traditional red jackets (pinks) on horseback crossing a stream with hunting hounds. An impressionistic landscape scene housed in a gilt wood frame. Titled 'Hubertusjagd', St. Hubertus Hunt, for the traditional "Hunter's Mass" hunt held around St. Hubertus Day (Nov 3). The painting is signed in the lower left corner, Willy P Ahrweiler. Known for his animal portraits and active in Munich, Ahrweiler studied at the Düsseldorf Academy under Wilhelm Döringer and Julius Paul Junghanns, from 1934 further training at the Munich School of Arts and Crafts under Josef Hillerbrand and master student of Prof. Richard Klein, where he honed his skill in capturing the beauty and expression of animals. In overall good vintage condition. The frame with general wear commensurate with use and age. Label on the back for the art gallery Kunsthaus Bühler located at Wagenburgstraße 4, Stuttgart, Germany.
