Antique 19th century hand carved wood wall sculptor depicting a fully dimensional putto figure. Masterfully hand-carved in the exuberant Baroque style. The sculpture depicts a joyful putto figure with a smiling expression and detailed carved hair, fingers and toes. The cherub holds the cello upright with one hand while the other guides a bow across the strings, capturing a moment of musical performance. The cello itself is carefully rendered, showing recognizable features like the curved body, f-holes, neck, and tuning pegs. Standing on a rococo base, the back with a wall bracket for hanging display. Measures 18 3/8" height x 8" wide x 7" deep. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. There is an area of filler repair to the rococo base as shown.
