Pair of antique French Sevres ceramic vases by Paul Jean Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862, and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931. Featuring cobalt blue ground decorated with Empire style bronze mounts with garland festoons. Marked MP for Paul Millet and Sevres, within a dotted circle, this mark was in use circa 1911. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, there are a couple of chips in the glaze near the base partially hidden by the bronze mount. Slight variance in the shade of cobalt blue. Stands 6 3/8" height x 3 1/2" wide.
