Charming antique French trompe l’oeil liquor tantalus box in the form of a stack of old leather bound books. With the look and appeal of a collection of antique volumes, but with the surprise and convenience of a liquor caddy hidden within. Opening to reveal a hidden storage within with fitted compartments. Housing a stoppered liquor decanter bottle and shot shot glasses or cordial cups. The decanter is marked Depose. The tantalus measures 6 3/4" x 4 1/4" x 7 3/4" height. The decanter stands 6 1/2" tall, x 2 5/8" length x 1 5/8" width. The shot glasses are 2" height x 1 3/8" diameter opening. One shot glass is shorter than the others, measuring 1 13/16". The glass liquor service is in overall good condition, no chips or cracks, wear to the gilding. The caddy box showing some wear commensurate with age and use.
