Pair of antique French Samson Paris porcelain armorial plates. Exquisite Chinese export style plates featuring a central coat of arms flanked by lions under a crown, surrounded by blue and gilt floral borders on a pale blue gray celadon ground. Hand painted with the Swedish noble familial crest of the Wrangel family. Marked with a red pseudo Chinese character mark for the Parisian ceramics factory of Samson, Edmé et Cie. Measures 10 1/2" diameter. In good to fair antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, there is a chip to the back of one plate and a repaired chip to the back of the other plate as shown.
