Vintage mid-century opaline glass jewelry casket box, attributed to Cenedese in Murano, Italy. Dating from the 1930s to the 1950s. Crafted from thick, semi-translucent opaline art glass (often referred to as vetro opaline) in an off white color. Features a gold-toned gilded brass or bronze hinged collar along the rim. Geometric oval tapered form with elegant minimalist style, which was highly popular in Venetian decorative arts of that era. In overall good vintage condition with general wear commensurate with use and age, no chips or cracks, some surface scratches to the base. Measures 5" length x 3 3/4" wide x 2 3/4" height.
