Exquisite antique French 19th century cut crystal box in the form of a basket. Lovely piece, large size. The cut crystal body features delightful etched floral vignettes along the body with wheel cut fluting circling the bottom. Framed in opulent dore bronze mounts. The handle comprises of a beaded trim terminating to a motif of flaming torches and stylized scrolling foliate. Two hinged lids adorn the top, both with etched floral motifs. The basket formed box sits on a base with neoclassical patterned friezes. Beautiful quality work throughout. Measures 8 1/4" length x 5 3/8" wide (sans handle) x 8 3/8" total height. In good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. No chips or cracks.
