Antique French Baccarat Crystal & Empire Gilt Bronze Oil Lamp
Antique French Baccarat cut glass and gilt bronze oil lamp. Featuring thick cut glass in a stunning green color, in rectangular form decorated with faceted cut shoulders. Decorated with ornate Empire style gilt bronze mounts. The neoclassical decoration comprises of finely detailed appliques representing allegorical/mythological figures including angels. The decor further comprising of a exquisite reticulated filigree borders patterned with an intricate motif of palmettes and scrolls. Resting on four bun feet. Polished pontil to the base. Unsigned. The delicate glass chimney is likely original. In overall good antique condition. No chips or cracks to the green glass. Some small nicking to the top rim of the glass chimney. The burner is marked for the German manufacturer Kosmos, 8". There is a seam split on the side of the burner, visible in the pictures. The lamp is 3 1/4" square x 8 1/2". Total height with the chimney is 16 1/4".
