Antique Victorian era French .800 silver locket pendant. Features various sizes of flat cut foil-backed garnet stones in milgrained bezel setting. The circular shaped pendant is constructed of alternating semi-circles with openwork in the centers, edged with black and white polka-dotted enamel. The back having a hinged door with beveled glass panel, opening to reveal compartment ideal for displaying a treasured photograph or keepsake item. Hallmarked twice with the French head of the wild boar mark indicating .800/1000 silver. Bearing a maker's mark for silversmith Paul Jules Pasquier, active in 1880 at 18 rue Chapon, Paris. The locket hangs approximately 1 3/8" long (including the bail) x 3/4" width. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. There are some garnets with chips to the edge and some loss to the black enamel.
