Antique French .800 silver photo locket pendant. The oval shaped locket features a hand engraved image from the Miracle of the Miraculous Medal. The engraving is of the apparition to Saint Catherine Labouré of the Blessed Virgin, standing on a half-globe, her feet crushing a serpent, with rays of light streaming from her open hands. The locket opens to reveal a hinged glass door within. In side are two engraved inscriptions, including initials L.A.G & M.J.G and dated August 27th 1901. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800/1000. Measures 1 3/8" total length including bail, 1” x 3/4” oval x 1/4" thick. Weighs 5 g.
