Antique French miniature portrait depicting a lady in a powdered wig dressed in a blue gown and hat with pink rose details. Signed lower right with initials AB or ALB. The watercolor painting is set under convex glass within a gilt bronze frame, decorated with flowers and leaves, embellished with a border of garnet beads. Surmounted in an ebonized wooden frame with concave oval aperture suspended from a hook. In overall good antique condition, with some general wear to the frames commensurate with age and use; some nicks and scratches to the garnet beads. Gilt frame hangs 3 3/8" total length x 2 9/16" wide. Portrait measures 2 5/16" x1 7/8" oval (sight). Wood frame measures 4 5/8" length x 3 7/8" width.
