Antique 19th century French perfume caddy, the box comprising of quality wood veneers, thuya burl and kingwood or rosewood I believe. The lid with brass bound edging and brass inlaid cartouche framed by ebonized wood inlay. Retains a working lock and original key. Opening to reveal a fitted interior housing a pair of elegant Baccarat cylindrical shaped scent bottles with round knob stoppers, hand painted with gold stars and trim. Unsigned but undoubtedly early Baccarat bottles that predate the 1936 acid etched labels. The famed cristallerie used paper labels beginning in 1860 until 1936, which often got lost, worn or washed away. The perfume box is in overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, no chips or cracks to the bottles, the interior lining is frayed/worn as shown. Box measures 4 3/8" x 3" x 4" tall. Bottles are 3 1/4" tall x 1 1/2" diameter.
