Antique French Saint Louis acid etched glass perfume bottle. Circa 1910. In the pattern Nelly, this Empire style pattern is listed in the Saint Louis 1908 catalogs. Decorated with neoclassical palmettes an intricate textured surface, embellished with gold gilt accents. Topped with a faceted cut stopper. The stopper is engraved at the base with a number 6, corresponding to a matching number found on the base of the bottle, indicating the stopper is original. Unmarked, pre-dating a signature. Like Baccarat, the Saint Louis cristallerie marked their early wares with a paper label, which was often lost, washed away or worn with time. The cristallerie did not use their acid-etched signature mark until 1936. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with use and age, no chips or cracks. Stands 8 5/8" tall x 2 1/2" diameter at the base. Other pieces in this pattern can be found in my shop listed separately.
