An antique French Limoges porcelain hand painted fourteen piece fish serving set by AKCD, circa 1900. Comprising of 11 plates, a large fish serving platter, and a gravy boat with matching under plate. Each piece features superb hand painted vignettes. Depicting a lovely underwater scene with differing fish swimming in a lush pond. White and pink lotus flowers on lily pads floating above. Vibrant strokes of teals and greens convey a sense of movement on the water's surface, contrasted beautifully with hues of peach and yellow undertones evoking a scene at sunset. Surrounded by scalloped and molded rims with heavy gold gilding. Each piece is signed by the artist A. Coulaig or A. Coulaiy. The set is marked in underglaze green Limoges France and also in red AKCD Limoges France for Alfred Klingenberg and Charles Dwenger. This mark was used c.1900-1910. Reference: Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Third Edition by Gaston, page 216. The plates measure 9 ½" diameter. The serving tray is 23 ¼" x 9 ¾". The sauce boat measures 4 ¾" high to the top of the handle, and the under tray measures 9 ½" x 6 ¼". The set is in overall good condition with no chips or cracks and minimal to no gold wear. There is a small chip to the rim foot on the back of the platter and a factory flaw on the foot rim on the back of one plate, none of which are at all noticeable from the front.
