Antique French Sevres porcelain jardiniere centerpiece by Paul Milet, son of Felix Optatus Milet. The jardiniere features stunning flambe glaze in rich emerald green and navy blue tones. Mounted with bronze fittings decorated in Art Nouveau style geometric forms with openwork and palmettes, flanked by round medallions embellished with scrolling foliage and move-able handles. Resting on a footed base. The handles are signed by the bronzer DELAUNAY, A1440. Stamped FRANCE on the base. Marked for Paul Milet and Sevres, this mark was in use circa 1911. Optat Milet began his career as a modeler for Sèvres in 1862, and opened his own ceramics factory in 1866. His son Paul Jean Milet took over operations shortly before the turn of the century and ran the company until 1931. In very good condition, some general wear/patina to the metal mounts commensurate with age. Measures 9 1/8" length x 5" width x 4" height.
