George III sterling silver vinaigrette pendant box. Of rectangular form with applied floral border, the base and lid engraved with flowers. Monogrammed with initials JC or SC. Opening to a gilt engraved and pierced grille. Hallmarked for Birmingham 1818, maker's mark for John Bettridge. Measures (sans bail) 1 3/8" x 1" x 3/8", hangs 1 3/4" with bail. Weighs Weighs 18.4g. In overall good to fair antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, impression to the base center, there is an indention with split located on the side with the bail as shown, possible repair to the bottom interior (visible in the picture with the grille opened).
