
Antique French .800 silver umbrella parasol handle or dress cane handle. Featuring elegant Art Nouveau curved form with repoussé design featuring chestnut leaves and chestnuts . Together with eight silver spoke tips. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar, in use from 1838 to indicate a silver content of .800 silver. Bearing maker's marks for silversmith Antoine Labbé, active 1899 at 17 rue Pastourelle, Paris. Measures 3" height x 2 1/2" wide, the base with a 7/16" diameter opening. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. Housed in the original presentation box, the box showing age related wear as shown. Box measures 4 7/8″ x 3 5/8″ x 1 1/2 tall.
