Antique French sterling silver centerpiece tazza or footed tray. Richly decorated with exquisite repousse work, patterned with scalloped sea-shells and foliage. Further enhanced with panels of pierced/reticulated lattice. Resting on a circular pedestal base. Measures 9" wide x 1 3/8" height. Weighs 360 grams. In overall good condition with general wear and scratches commensurate with use and age. A tiny dimple or two to the center well and slight indention to one edge of the rim visible in the images. Hallmarked on the rim and pedestal base with the French Minerve 1st standard mark used from 1838 to 1919, which depicts the goddess Minerva with a number 1 beside her to denote a silver content of 950/1000 (of 95% pure silver and a higher finesse than .925 sterling). Maker's mark for Parisian mastersmith Henin & Cie, active from 1869 to early 1900's, successor of Henin & Vivier.
