A gorgeous antique early 1900s Austrian gilt ormolu jewelry box. The exquisite domed lid encrusted with faux gem stones, including various colorful faceted jewels, cabochons and seed pearls. Intricately decorated and embellished with ornate reticulated filigree. The sides patterned with an elaborate arabesque motif mimicking the style of Cannetille wire work. Resting atop six ornate bejeweled feet embellished with scrolling foliage, minute beading and scalloped shell motif. Having a dark purple velvet lined interior. In good antique condition with general wear from use and handling, patina and discoloration to the metal commensurate with age. Velvet lining is in good order. No missing stones. A chip to one or two faux pearls. Measures (including feet) 6 7/8" length and 3 5/8" wide, stands 3 5/8" tall.
