Antique French 18K yellow gold photo locket. Featuring two oval glass panels framed by 18K yellow gold encasement. Opening to reveal a sentimental hair artwork memento of a lone pansy flower representing remembrance and thoughtfulness, with initials GM, on a mother of pearl backing. This can be removed if so desired, the locket can be used to display a photo, lock of a loved one's hair or pressed flowers. Bearing hallmarks of the ram's head, this French hallmark was used from 1819 to 1838. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. There is a lack to the gold edging on the top part of the locket as shown. Measures 1 7/8" total length with bail x 1 1/4" wide.
