Antique French 18k gold mounted amber cigar holder. Beautiful Baltic amber tapered mouthpiece in rich honey color mounted with 18K yellow gold rim and escutcheon cartouche. Hallmarked with the French 18K gold standard mark in a form of an eagle's head in use in France from 1838 and bearing a goldsmith maker's mark as shown, the mark appears to be initials P.L. perhaps for jeweler and silversmith Paul Letourneau, circa 1913. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, there are a couple of indentions to the sides of the gold rim. The holder measures 2 3/8" length x 3/4" wide, with a 1/2" diameter opening aperture.
