Antique French sterling silver flatware service housed in a fitted presentation box. Comprising of 12 forks and 12 spoons for luncheon or dessert. The handles are decorated with Art Nouveau peony blossoms and stylized leaves. Spoons are 7 1/2" length. Forks are 7 7/16" length. Total silver weight is 1202.5 grams. Box measures 10 1/4" x 8 1/4" x 2" height. The set is hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which guaranteed the finest quality French sterling silver of .950/1000 purity in use from 1838 (95% pure silver and a higher grade than the standard .925 for sterling). Maker's marks for Parisian silversmith Alphonse Debain, active from 1883-1911 at 79 rue du Temple, Paris. The flatware is in overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. The box showing age related wear and tear to the exterior.
