Antique 19th century Neo Renaissance carved walnut wood altar niche wall hanging. Elaborately hand carved with arches, pendant finials and scrolled motifs. The base of the niche supported by a stunning carved figure of a cherub or angel with wings outspread. To the center is a hinged door with intricate lattice openwork, opening to a recessed niche for icon art or scripture. The top of the piece with cross finial. In overall good antique condition, a small nick on the top most pendant finials and cross. Measures 17 1/8″ height x 9 1/4″ width.
