Antique Baccarat Crystal Eglantier Pattern Perfume Bottle Art Nouveau Acid Etched Cameo Glass Cranberry Pink Overlay Flowers
Antique French Baccarat perfume bottle in the Eglantier pattern. Cameo dresser bottle with acid etched floral cut to clear decoration. Circa 1900. This pattern is referenced in the Baccarat 1903-1904 catalog and in the 1916 catalog. The bottle features a textured fern leaf background with cranberry pink overlay. Patterned with Art Nouveau style dog rose flowers and leaves. This type of perfume bottle was called a flacon stilligoutte, or dropper bottle, for dispensing drops of perfume on a cotton ball or hand kerchief. In good condition, with general wear to the metal mounts. No chips or cracks. The bottle is unmarked, made prior to 1936. Beginning in 1860, Baccarat marked their pieces with a circular paper label bearing their logo, sadly these labels were lost, removed or washed away over time. In 1936, Baccarat replaced the traditional paper labels for their renown permanent acid-etched logo. Measures 6 5/8" tall x 2 3/4" diameter base.
