Antique French 18k yellow gold oval locket brooch pin. The front showcases a lovely openwork motif embellished with beaded border and an engraved textured ground. At the center is a ruby surrounded by four pearls. Opening to reveal a hinged glass door within to hold a photo or lock of hair. The back with a pin and "C" shaped clasp. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use, there are some small dimples to the right side edge as shown. Measures 1 1/4" x 1". Weighs 11.80 grams.
