Antique early 19th century French writer's wax seal or desk stamp with precious stone handle. The exquisite wheel cut faceted handle is of solid banded white agate. Finished with 18K yellow gold mount, decorate with ornate embossing, the matrix bearing a monogram of initials EM in Gothic script. Hallmarked with the French ram's head. This mark was in use in Paris from August 16, 1819 to May 9, 1938 to indicate 18K gold. Housed in the original fitted presentation box. In overall good antique condition with general wear. Wax seal measures 2 3/4" length. The box measuring 3 1/2" length x 1 1/4" width.
