Antique French 18K gold mounted wax seal desk stamp with a solid handle carved from brown smoky quartz or smoky topaz. The tapered handle is finished with 18K yellow gold mount surmounted with a smoky topaz stone matrix at the base. Engraved with interlaced initials BM or MB. The mount is hallmarked with the gold standard mark in the form of an eagle's head in use in France from 1838. Bearing a maker's marks of the goldsmith. In good antique condition. Measures 2 7/16" length, the oval base measures 13/16" x 11/16". Weighs 26.2 grams.
