Antique Art Nouveau era French .800 silver compact chatelaine. Embossed with a lovely mistletoe motif. With a border of fleurs de lis surrounding the edges. The base features an elaborate design of various flowers, including a carnation, a violet, a cyclamen and a daffodil. Opens to reveal a small beveled glass mirror inside and well for rouge or powder. Closes well with a nice 'click'. Below the hinge is a loop ring for hanging on a chatelaine. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. Hallmarked with the French head of the wild boar to indicate a silver content of at least .800/1000 silver. Also bearing a maker's mark for silversmith Prudent Quitte, active circa 1882 at 42 rue Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth, Paris.
