Antique French .800 silver and gilt vermeil scalloped shell shaped tea caddy spoon / scoop. Exhibiting fine craftsmanship and detail. The handle patterned with guilloche engraved polka dots framed by a Greek key border. Finished with a blank circular cartouche. Single, and without a set, this piece is superb to add to your tea service, ready for use and in fine condition, appears to have hardly been used with the gilt vermeil showing little to no wear. Measures 4 1/4" length. Weighs 20 grams. Hallmarked with the French Minerve 2nd standard mark, depicting the head of the goddess Minerva with a number 2 beside her, designating a silver content of .800 silver (almost sterling). Marker’s mark is rubbed and difficult to decipher.
