Antique 19th century French filigree band hair comb, tiara. The prominent upper section consists of a wide, curved rectangular band made of textured brass or gold-tone metal. It features a highly intricate, organic openwork lattice that beautifully mimics gossamer lace or webbed filigree edged with a scalloped or looped picot trim. Attached by a pivoting hinge to a 7-prong clarified horn comb. In overall good antique condition with general wear commensurate with age and use. Measures 3 1/8" total length, the gallery measures 4 1/8" wide x 1 3/8" height.
