A fantastic ‘scène de famille’ portraying a mother and child as well as a religious icon image beautifully rendered here in fine detail and vibrant color. Signed J or L Denis. Dated 1894. This scene is after the religious painting Virgin and Child painted in 1872 by the French artist Antoine Auguste Ernest Hébert (1817-1908). Plaque measures 11 7/8" x 7 7/8". Impressed numbers to the back of the plaque. In good antique condition, no chips or cracks.
